Wigan Council

Wigan Council operates three Recycling Centres, providing essential services for residents. To ensure safety, only adults may unload vehicles, while children and pets must remain inside at all times. Proof of Wigan Borough residency is required, usually by presenting a driving licence. Vehicles over 3.5 tonnes and those with tipping mechanisms are not permitted, as all unloading must be done manually. Trailers over 4 metres are banned, and trailers exceeding 3 metres are not allowed at Slag Lane or Chanters.
