Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What items can I bring for recycling or disposal?

A: You can bring a wide range of items including paper, glass, plastics, textiles, batteries, garden waste, wood, metal, and small electricals. Some sites also accept mattresses, fridges, and cooking oil in limited quantities.

Q: Are there limits on certain materials?

A: Yes, small daily limits apply to items such as soil, rubble, plasterboard, oil, and chemicals. This ensures fair use and safe handling of hazardous materials.

Q: Do I need a permit to use the site?

A: Cars and small trailers usually don’t need a permit. However, vans, pickups, or large trailers must be registered before visiting. Always check the vehicle rules before your trip.

Q: Are there vehicle height or size restrictions?

A: Vehicles over 2 metres in height or with caged or flat-bed trailers are not allowed on most sites. Drivers using adapted vehicles over this limit should contact the site team in advance.

Q: Can I bring both a van and a trailer at the same time?

A: No, if your towing vehicle is a van, you may only use either the van or the trailer for waste, not both together. This helps keep unloading areas safe and manageable.
