Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When can I access the recycling centre on foot?

A: Pedestrians, cyclists, and people with bike trailers can enter safely between 12pm and 12.30pm each day. During this short period, vehicle access is paused to make the site safer for walk-ins.

Q: Can I park nearby and walk my rubbish in?

A: It’s best not to. Parking outside and carrying items in can block traffic and cause safety issues. Always use the designated access times for pedestrians if you’re arriving without a vehicle.

Q: Do all vehicles need to book before visiting?

A: Only vans, trailers, and other commercial-style vehicles must book in advance, as they have visit limits. Regular cars can visit without a booking.

Q: What items can I take for reuse or donation?

A: You can hand in usable household goods such as bikes, small appliances, furniture with safety labels, garden tools, and sports gear. These are collected by local reuse charities to support community projects.

Q: Can I collect recycling supplies at the centre?

A: Yes, you can pick up food waste caddies, liners, and battery recycling bags when you visit. These help you recycle more efficiently at home.
