Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How can I make my trip to the recycling centre run smoothly?
A: Organise your waste before setting off and try to visit during quieter periods. Midday, weekends and bank holidays tend to be the busiest times.
Q: Are children allowed outside the vehicle?
A: Children under 12 must stay inside the vehicle while on-site. Anyone aged 12 or over can help unload, but must remain closely supervised by an adult.
Q: Do I need an e-permit for my vehicle or trailer?
A: An e-permit is required for commercial-style vehicles and larger trailers. Make sure you check the size restrictions beforehand and have your permit ready before you visit.
Q: How should I dispose of batteries?
A: Please place all household batteries in the dedicated battery bins provided. Keeping batteries separate helps prevent fires and protects staff and visitors.
Q: Can I use a driver-and-van service to drop off waste?
A: No. Waste must be brought by the person who produced it. Self-hire vans are allowed, as long as they meet the site’s size limits and the waste owner is present.
