Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need a permit to bring my vehicle to the recycling centre?
A: Yes. All visitors must have a valid vehicle permit before using the site. This helps ensure only eligible vehicles access the centres.
Q: Can I still enter the site if I arrive right at closing time?
A: No. Visitors will not be admitted once closing time has passed. It's best to arrive early so you have enough time to queue and unload safely.
Q: Why do the gates close before the official closing time?
A: For safety and clearing procedures, gates may shut up to 20 minutes earlier than the published closing time. This ensures the site can be emptied and secured properly.
Q: Do opening hours change during the year?
A: Yes. The centres run shorter hours in winter and extended hours in summer. Opening times change when the clocks move forward or back with the seasonal time shift.
Q: What types of waste are not allowed at the recycling centre?
A: Only household waste is accepted. Anything linked to business activity, rental properties, paid work, or commercial premises must be taken to a licensed commercial waste site instead.
