Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need to separate my recycling before arriving?
A: Yes, separating paper, plastics, metals, and glass before you arrive helps speed up the unloading process and ensures items are processed correctly.
Q: Are there limits on the number of items I can bring?
A: Most centres have no strict limits, but large or heavy loads may require assistance from staff. Plan your visit for quieter times if bringing bulk items.
Q: Can I drop off items that are still usable?
A: Yes, many centres have a reuse area where items in good condition can be donated instead of recycled, helping reduce waste and support the community.
Q: What safety precautions should I follow at the centre?
A: Wear sturdy shoes and gloves, follow staff instructions, and keep children and pets in the car. Do not climb on recycling containers or attempt to sort waste yourself.
Q: Can I recycle unusual items like garden hoses or sports gear?
A: Many centres accept small items made of metal, plastic, or rubber, including old sports equipment and garden tools. Ask staff if unsure where to place them.
