Wexford County Council’s current recycling-and-waste network has four centres: Holmestown serving Wexford, plus Gorey, Enniscorthy and New Ross. Check the opening day and lunchtime break

Wexford’s recycling centres operate Tuesday to Saturday, with shorter Saturday hours and a weekday lunch closure. They close on Mondays, Sundays and bank holidays. Check the individual centre’s timetable before travelling.

Electrical-only visits have a fee exception

The council lists a €2.50 entry fee, waived for visits bringing only household electrical equipment for recycling. Mixed loads and other disposal services can cost more. Check the chosen centre’s current tariff before combining materials.

Use Holmestown’s specific disposal information

Holmestown lists services for general household waste, bulky items and green waste as well as recycling. Check its material and charge information before a larger clear-out; do not assume every smaller recycling centre offers the same services.

About Wexford County Council

Wexford County Council operates four recycling centres where residents are encouraged to sort their waste before visiting. Cardboard must be clean and flattened, while glass should be rinsed, lids removed, and sorted by colour. Cans should be washed and separated into food or drinks. Clothing must be clean, and shoes kept in pairs. All items must be placed in the correct receptacle. Children must always be supervised by an adult, and pets kept inside vehicles.
