Overview

West London Waste Authority serves Brent, Ealing, Harrow, Hillingdon, Hounslow and Richmond upon Thames. Its current guidance identifies six public Household Reuse and Recycling Centres: Abbey Road, Greenford Road, Harrow, Harefield, Space Waye and Townmead. Our seven records cover those six, but also retain Acton; official pages describe Acton as a separate ReActon reduce-and-recycle hub rather than a current HRRC.

Use the borough-specific centre guidance

Booking, residency and vehicle rules vary between Abbey Road, Greenford Road, Harrow, Harefield, Space Waye and Townmead Road. Use the authority’s directory links for the centre you plan to visit; do not assume one site’s booking or charging rules apply across all six.

Abbey Road bookings and hire vans

Abbey Road requires a confirmed booking. Its current guidance allows qualifying hire-van visits by Brent residents up to twice per year, with photo ID and separate recent address evidence. Commercial vehicles, tail-lift vehicles and vehicles over 3.5 tonnes are excluded from the household service.

Keep chargeable and reusable goods separate

At Abbey Road, sort chargeable DIY materials from other waste so a mixed load does not attract avoidable charges. Household DIY allowances and separate paid services have their own conditions. Keep goods suitable for reuse separate and ask staff about the reuse area.

About West London Waste

West London Waste Authority’s current directory lists six household recycling centres across the region, providing residents with accessible facilities to dispose of household waste responsibly. These centres accept a wide range of recyclable materials, helping to reduce landfill and support sustainability. The household recycling service is for residents’ own waste. Separate paid trade services have their own site and access arrangements. Visitors should follow on-site signage and guidance from staff to ensure safe and efficient recycling. Proof of residency may be required when visiting.
