Book the chosen centre before visiting

Book Lower Polmaise, Callander or Balfron up to 14 days ahead, or on the day if a slot is available. Provide the correct vehicle registration and bring your booking reference and proof of address.

Car and van visit limits differ

Cars have no numerical visit limit under the published booking guidance. Vans and trailers are limited to 12 bookings per year, and some vehicle types are excluded entirely. Check eligibility before borrowing or hiring transport.

Ask about the reuse containers

All three household centres offer opportunities to donate suitable items for reuse. Lower Polmaise’s staffed reuse container has its own hours and acceptance conditions. Keep clean, reusable items separate and ask staff where they belong.

Stirling Council runs three recycling centres for residents. When you arrive, you must present your booking reference number along with valid identification before entering. Use of these Household Waste and Recycling Centres (HWRCs) is free of charge for local residents. Commercial waste is not accepted, though a commercial weighbridge account can be arranged at Lower Polmaise for business waste disposal. For safety reasons, children under 12 and pets must stay inside your vehicle at all times.
