The re3 recycling-centre network

Reading Borough Council is part of re3, the waste-management partnership between Reading Borough Council, Wokingham Borough Council and Bracknell Forest Council.

The two re3 recycling centres are Smallmead in Reading and Longshot Lane in Bracknell. Visits are by appointment.

DIY waste

Small amounts of household DIY waste can be disposed of free within the re3 allowance.

The current free allowance is up to 100 litres of materials such as rubble, soil, plasterboard, gravel, wood chippings or asbestos, or one bulky sanitary-ware item no larger than 2000mm × 750mm × 700mm in a visit.

The free DIY allowance applies on a maximum of 4 occasions within a 4-week period. Excess DIY waste can be chargeable.

Trade waste

re3 also operates a separate trade-waste service for eligible small local businesses in the Reading, Bracknell Forest and Wokingham area. This is separate from ordinary household recycling-centre use.
