Overview
Perth & Kinross Council’s current directory lists nine recycling centres: Aberfeldy, Auchterarder, Bankfoot, Blairgowrie, Crieff, Friarton and Inveralmond, plus Kinross and Pitlochry. Our nine associated records match all current council sites. The directory also distinguishes recycling centres from the wider network of local recycling points; the category’s broad Perth and Kirkcaldy location labels are taxonomy groupings rather than extra facilities.

Check whether your vehicle needs an exemption permit
Vans, pickups, some larger passenger vehicles and larger trailers need the council’s domestic exemption permit for household waste. The permit is free. Check the vehicle definitions before visiting; an ordinary small single-axle trailer has different requirements.
Keep electrical items and vapes in the right streams
Household electrical equipment can be recycled at the council’s recycling centres. The council gives separate instructions for vapes and e-cigarettes, rather than treating them as ordinary small electricals. Ask staff for the designated collection point.
Give readable books a chance to be reused
Book banks at seven centres take suitable books for reuse. Encyclopaedias, magazines and damaged books are excluded. Check the list of participating sites and keep reusable books separate from paper recycling.
