City residents and registration

Redfield Road serves Nottingham City residents. Vehicle registration is not required there; do not confuse its arrangements with Nottinghamshire County Council’s centres. Bring proof that you live in the city.

Small DIY quantities

The household allowance is two 50-litre bags or one item no larger than 2m × 0.75m × 0.7m. Separate restrictions apply to windows. This covers your own household DIY, rather than waste from paid building work.

Check vehicle and appliance limits

Check vehicle weight, trailer combinations and the current fridge/freezer allowance before loading. The council currently limits fridges/freezers to one per visit and one visit per week. Seasonal closing times vary; leave the site by closing time.

About this category

About Nottingham City Council

Nottingham City Council operates one recycling centre for residents of the city only, not the wider county districts. The site is strictly for household waste created by you at your own home. Waste from landlords clearing rented properties, commercial businesses or paid building work is classed as trade waste and will not be accepted. Tenants may bring their own household waste. Access is permitted with certain vehicles only: cars (with or without trailers up to 3m x 2m), vans, minibuses, pick-ups, campervans, and motorcycles/mopeds.
