Vehicle permits
Vans, specified pick-ups and qualifying larger trailers need a permit to bring household waste. Households using a non-domestic vehicle receive up to 12 permits a year, with a maximum of three in seven days. Apply for one permit at a time and use the booked slot: unused permits are not restored to your allowance.
Bring photographic identification linking you to the address the waste came from, such as a driving licence, or a passport with a utility bill. The permit does not allow business or trade waste.
DIY waste permits
Private cars also need a permit when bringing DIY waste covered by the scheme. Households are limited to four DIY permits in 28 days. A limited quantity is free; charges apply above the allowance. DIY visits in a non-domestic vehicle also count against the household’s DIY allocation.
Check the permit guidance for your vehicle, load and allowance before arranging the visit.
