Register household vehicles

Vehicle registration is required before visiting. A household can register two vehicles, with registration lasting three years. Ordinary household vehicle registration allows unlimited visits; separate limits apply to commercial-type vehicles. Registration does not authorise business waste.

Commercial-type vehicles and trailers

Vans, pick-ups and other commercial-type vehicles used for household waste have a 12-visit allowance over 12 months. Some trailers also fall in this category. Check the precise vehicle classification, excluded vehicles and additional restrictions at Wombleton before travelling.

Hire vehicles and help from friends

Hire-car registration covers seven days and up to four visits; bring the hire agreement and proof of address. Temporary registration for a friend or family member’s vehicle covers four weeks and up to four visits. These arrangements cover your own household waste, rather than paid waste removal.
