Overview

North East Lincolnshire Council’s official service has two recycling centres—Grimsby and Immingham—and both are represented on this page. The council calls them recycling centres (or “the tip”), not Household Waste Recycling Centres. The listing names match the official sites; use the individual record for location-specific information and the council’s current household-waste guidance before travelling.

Complete the vehicle declaration

Complete the online household declaration before visiting in a listed van, SUV, estate car, people carrier, 4x4, pick-up or vehicle with a trailer. Each household member using a shared vehicle needs their own declaration. Submit a new form if your vehicle or address changes.

Sort DIY materials and check site acceptance

Soil and rubble are limited to three bags in one household visit per day. Clean, dry plasterboard also has a three-bag daily household limit; contaminated plasterboard is not accepted. Cardboard is recycled at Grimsby or through the blue-bin service, rather than at both tips.

Arrange assistance and specialist disposal

Contact Waste Services on 01472 326288, option 1, if you need disability-related help or guidance following a bereavement. Bonded household asbestos is accepted at Grimsby only through its separate advance-booking arrangements. Check the current packaging, quantity and appointment requirements before travelling.

About this category

About North East Lincolnshire Council

North East Lincolnshire Council operates two recycling centres, available exclusively for local residents. Each household is permitted to visit up to twice daily using a car or small van. Larger vehicles and trailers may only access the sites once per day. Commercial waste is strictly prohibited. Residents may bring household waste from the property they live in, including a rented home. These rules help ensure that the facilities remain available for household waste recycling, supporting responsible and fair use by residents.
