Book the right site

All three centres require a booked slot. Briton Ferry and Cymmer use the NPT booking arrangements; Lower Cwmtwrch bookings are made through Powys Council. At Lower Cwmtwrch, bring proof of address and check its separate opening days.

Check van and trailer permits

At Briton Ferry and Cymmer, a permit is issued automatically when an eligible van, pick-up or double-axle trailer slot is booked. The allowance is 12 permits per year, from April to March. Lower Cwmtwrch uses the separate Powys vehicle-permit scheme.

Check building-waste charges

Briton Ferry and Cymmer allow up to three sacks of building-type waste per household per week, excluding asbestos. Larger loads and all asbestos must go to Briton Ferry under its charging rules. Briton Ferry no longer accepts cash payments.
