Check the new permit and booking system
The council says bookings at Waveney Road, Redlands and Sullatober become available from 19 October 2026 for specified users. Vans, double-axle trailers and certain organisations need a council-issued permit. Private cars, with or without a single-axle trailer, do not use this system.
Allow time for permit approval
Create an account and upload the required residence, vehicle and organisation documents before booking. The council advises that confirmed permit applications can take up to two weeks. Check the relevant annual visit allowance and cancellation conditions.
Check smaller-site opening days
Glenarm and Larne South have fewer opening days than the three main centres. Check the timetable for your chosen site. Reuse containers support Habitat for Humanity; donated items must not be removed by visitors.
