Overview
Kilkenny County Council’s waste pages identify Dunmore Waste Disposal and Recycling Centre and the Grannagh Recycling Centre in south Kilkenny as council-supported recycling facilities. Our page currently includes Dunmore only, so it does not cover the full two-site facility network. Bring centres and privately operated centres are separate facility types.

Check Dunmore hours and holiday closures
Dunmore normally opens Monday to Friday, 8am to 4.30pm, and Saturday, 8am to noon. It closes on Sundays, bank holidays and the Saturday of a bank-holiday weekend. Check current notices before travelling.
Separate free recycling from chargeable waste
Household electrical appliances, batteries, clothes, glass bottles and food or drink cans are free to deposit at Dunmore. Other recycling and waste streams have separate charges, so keep materials separated and check the current price list.
Check household hazardous-waste options
Kilkenny’s recycling guidance directs household paint, engine oil, fluorescent tubes and batteries to the civic-amenity services at Dunmore or Granny/Grannagh. Check the chosen facility’s conditions and charges before loading these materials.
