Overview
Isle of Anglesey County Council’s current permit guidance identifies two Household Recycling Centres: Penhesgyn and Gwalchmai. Our two associated records cover the complete official household network. The council also lists recycling banks across the island, but those smaller bring facilities are separate from the two HRCs and are not combined in this page’s count.

Gwalchmai visits need the booked registration
Book Gwalchmai up to seven days ahead. One household application is allowed per day, using the vehicle registration that will arrive. Allow for the ten-minute unloading slot and sort the load before travelling.
Penhesgyn needs current address evidence
Penhesgyn does not require a booking. Bring a current-financial-year Council Tax bill, driving licence or utility bill no older than three months. Check opening days: it normally closes on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
A vehicle permit is separate from booking
Pick-ups, small vans, eligible minibuses, sign-written cars and certain trailers need a permit. The application requires vehicle and residency documents, with separate evidence for an employer-owned vehicle. Check eligibility before arranging transport.
