Book Burn Road before travelling
All visits require advance booking under the system introduced on 8 April 2026. Burn Road normally opens Wednesday to Sunday. Check seasonal closing times; last entry is ten minutes before closing. Short safety closures may occur while skips are compacted.
Free DIY allowance and charges
Residents can bring qualifying household DIY waste once a week: up to 100 litres or one item no larger than 2m × 0.75m × 0.7m. Charges apply above the allowance. Declare chargeable materials at the site office and pay by card. Mixed waste bags are not accepted.
Asbestos needs preparation
Obtain the council’s specialist asbestos bags before the disposal visit and follow its double-bagging instructions. Quantity, size and weight restrictions apply. Check the full guidance before packaging or transporting asbestos.
