Dundee City Council operates two Household Waste Recycling Centres, where residents can recycle a wide range of household waste free of charge.

Apply for vehicle permits before travelling
Vans, pick-ups, car-derived vans and eligible single-axle trailers need the free vehicle permit. Permits are not issued at the centres. Rental vans have separate conditions and require a valid hire agreement. Twin-axle trailers and vehicles over 3.5 tonnes are excluded.
Winter last admission is 4pm
From October to March, Baldovie and Riverside normally open daily from 9am to 4.15pm, with the last vehicle admitted at 4pm. Check the council page or Dundee MyBins app for temporary closures.
Check batteries and restricted materials
E-bikes, e-scooters and hoverboards need the council’s specific battery-handling procedure before arrival. Do not put them in scrap metal. Paint, plasterboard, vehicle tyres and asbestos are among the materials not accepted; check the full list before loading.
