Booking and arrival at Bar Road

When booking, have your address, vehicle registration and details of your waste ready. Bring the booking reference and proof of residency. Do not arrive more than ten minutes before your appointment. To amend or cancel a booking, use the My Requests section of your council MyAccount.

Phone bookings are available through the council’s customer services, rather than by calling the tip directly. If the waste belongs to someone at another address, the council says that person must accompany you.

DIY materials and reuse

The council accepts up to six bags of soil or rubble from home DIY per load per day, with each bag no heavier than 25kg. This excludes waste from footings, internal-wall removal, foundation work and internal or external rendering. Asbestos requires separate booking arrangements.

Before disposing of usable items, consider donating them. The council lists Emmaus, the British Heart Foundation and Freecycle among the alternatives.

Coventry City Council operates one recycling centre, accessible strictly by pre-booking only. Anyone arriving without a booking will not be permitted entry. The site is open exclusively to Coventry residents, and proof of residency is required, as neighbouring councils provide their own facilities. Cars, small vans, 4x4s and cars with trailers are permitted, subject to the council’s vehicle restrictions. Check the council’s detailed vehicle-access guidance for other permitted vehicles and current limits. While staff are available to give advice on where to place waste, they cannot assist with unloading vehicles.
