Register your household’s vehicles

Register before visiting. A household can register up to three vehicles, including one commercial-type vehicle, and receives up to 30 visits in 12 months. Update the account when you move or change vehicles. Automatic number plate recognition checks registered vehicles on arrival.

Hire vehicles

Register a hired vehicle in advance for the selected three-day access period. The council allows up to four hire-vehicle registrations in 12 months. Bring the emailed QR code and valid hire documents; show them before unloading.

Site choice and pedestrian access

Vehicle restrictions differ between centres, particularly for trailers, vans and longer vehicles. Frodsham is the only centre with permitted pedestrian access through a dedicated gate. Sort materials before arrival; staff may inspect bags or request a waste declaration. Business waste is excluded.

About this category

About Cheshire West Council

Cheshire West and Chester Council operates seven recycling centres for residents to dispose of their household waste responsibly. Residents must register their vehicles before visiting. The council also allows registered visits on behalf of family members, friends or residents without their own vehicle; check its current arrangements before travelling. Hired or unmarked vans may be asked to provide proof of residency before gaining access. Proof of residency is required on request, which should be in the form of a recent utility bill, bank statement, or a valid driver’s licence.
