Choose an open centre

Pyle is closed on Tuesdays, Brynmenyn on Wednesdays and Maesteg on Thursdays. Check the council’s current timetable before travelling; gates may shut up to 20 minutes early to accommodate vehicles already queuing.

Arrange van and trailer access

Brynmenyn does not accept vans or trailers. For permitted vans, pick-ups and qualifying trailers at Pyle or Maesteg, arrange a free tipping permit by calling 01656 643643 at least 48 hours ahead.

Check construction-waste limits

Plasterboard, rubble, soil and hardcore are limited to four bags weighing no more than 17kg each, with no repeat visit for those materials within 30 days. Larger quantities need a private waste service. Asbestos is a separate paid, permit-only service at Pyle.

About Bridgend County Borough Council

Bridgend County Borough Council operates three community recycling centres, at Brynmenyn, Maesteg, and Pyle. Residents are asked to sort their recycling before arriving to reduce waiting times and ensure smooth access.
