Wood and timber can be recycled in various ways. The household waste recycling centre near you will have skips where you can take unwanted wood for recycling. The skips are filled up and then sent off to a wood mill to be chipped down and processed into other wood products like but not limited to chipboard.

Some people collect old wood and pallets and up cycle them into re-usable items such as benches or garden planters, it is all wood and timber recycling of sorts. There are some private companies that collect unwanted wood to be resold on at a cheaper rate than timber merchants would charge.

Wood recycling is not only kind to the environment but wood is such a versatile material it would be a type of crime not to re-use it as much as possible.
